What it costs, before you have to ring anyone
Most companies in this trade make you book a visit before they’ll tell you a single number. We think that’s a daft way to treat people, so here’s where ours start.
20% off when you book two or more services
| Job | What that covers | From |
|---|---|---|
| Roof Treatments | Moss and lichen killed off and cleared, without anyone stomping around on your tiles. | $250 |
| Gutter Cleaning | Cleared by hand, downpipes flushed, and photos so you can see inside without a ladder. | $200 |
| House Washing | Low pressure, the right mix for your cladding, and a straight answer if yours doesn’t need it. | $200 |
| Driveways & Paths | Concrete, paving and paths brought back to colour, and a lot less slippery afterwards. | $200 |
| Decks & Fences | Timber handled gently, fences done at the same time, sheds and outbuildings welcome. | $200 |
| Two or more on one visit | Roof, spouting and house wash is the usual combination. One crew, one day, one invoice. | Less 20% |

How we price
Mid-tier pricing for high-spec work
Quoting is quick for us after fourteen years of it, so a fifteen-minute look around the outside is genuinely enough to give you a firm number.
We are not the cheapest, because we aren’t doing the cheap version. We price in the middle of the market for high-specification work, then take 20% off when you book two or more services, and that is what makes it affordable.
The number in your written quote is the number on your invoice. If we find something unexpected we ring you before we touch it, not afterwards.
What changes the price
There are only really four things, and none of them are a surprise after the quote.
Size
Floor area for a house wash, roof area for a treatment, square metres for a driveway. Bigger takes longer.
Height
Two storeys, steep roofs and awkward gables need more gear and more time than a single-level home.
Access
Right-of-ways, tight side paths, cars that can’t be moved, steep sections. We’d rather know in advance.
How long it has been left
An annual tidy-up is quick. Fifteen years of lichen is a different job, and we’ll be straight with you about that.
“Can you give us a rough guesstimate of what we might be looking at?”
If you’d rather not wait for a visit, ring us with the address and a rough description and we’ll give you a ballpark on the spot. We’d sooner tell you a number and find out we aren’t the right fit than waste an afternoon each.
Questions about price
Why can you not just tell me the exact price over the phone?
Because we’d be guessing, and a guess that turns out to be wrong on the day is worse than no number at all. What we can tell you is where it starts: $200 for most jobs, and $250 for a standard 180 m² roof treatment. The quote itself costs nothing and takes about fifteen minutes.
If you tell us the address and roughly what the place is like when you ring, we can usually give you a sensible ballpark on the phone.
What makes a job cost more than the starting price?
Size, height and access, in that order. A two-storey home takes longer and needs more gear than a single-storey. A steep roof or a tricky right-of-way takes longer again. Heavy growth that has been left for years takes more product and more time than an annual tidy-up.
None of it is a surprise on the invoice. It’s all in the written quote, before you decide anything.
Is the 20% real, or is it just marketing?
It’s real, and there’s a reason for it. Two jobs on one visit is one trip, one set-up and one pack-down instead of two, so it costs us less than coming twice and we take 20% off the lot.
It isn’t a sale that ends on Friday. Book two or more services and it applies. There’s a further package discount on bigger jobs — worth asking about when you get your quote.
Are you the cheapest?
No, and we’d rather say so. There are people who will do it cheaper, usually by giving it a quick surface blast that looks clean on the day and is green again by spring, sometimes taking a bit of your paint with it.
We sit in the middle of the market on price for high-spec work, and then the 20% brings it down. That’s the whole approach: proper work at a fair number.
Do you charge for the quote?
No. The assessment is free, it takes about fifteen minutes and it’s done entirely from outside. You get the price in writing at the end of it.
Is there a discount for pensioners?
The 20% applies to everyone, and a good many of the people we look after are on a fixed income. If money is tight, tell us when you ring. Quite often the sensible answer is the spouting now and the rest next year, and we’re happy to price it that way.
When do I pay?
After the job is done and you’ve had a look at it. Not before.
