Terms of service

What you can expect from us, and what we need from you. In plain English, because small print that nobody reads protects nobody.

These terms apply to work carried out by Supreme Wash Limited for residential and small commercial property owners in Hamilton and the Waikato. Your written quote comes first if the two ever disagree.

Quotes and prices

  • The assessment is free. It takes about fifteen minutes and is done entirely from outside.
  • You get a price in writing before any work is booked in. The published starting prices — from $200, and from $250 for a roof treatment — are starting points, not a quote for your property.
  • The number in your written quote is the number on your invoice. If we find something on the day that we couldn’t see at the assessment, we stop and ring you before we touch it. We don’t adjust the price afterwards and tell you later.
  • A quote holds for 30 days. After that we may need to look again, because access, growth and our costs all move.

The 20% discount

20% comes off the total when you book two or more services for the same visit. It applies to the quoted work, it is shown on the quote rather than claimed at the end, and it is not a limited-time sale. A further package discount is available on larger jobs at our discretion — ask about it when you get your quote. Discounts don’t stack with each other.

What we need from you

None of this is onerous, but the job goes wrong without it:

  • Access. Gates unlocked, vehicles moved off the driveway, and a working outside tap.
  • Windows and doors shut. We’ll check, but you know your place better than we do.
  • Pets inside. For their sake more than ours.
  • Tell us about anything fragile. Failing paint, cracked render, a rotten sill, loose spouting, a leaking window, solar panels, an alarm sensor or a security light. We look for these at the assessment and we’ll point out what we find, but you may know about something we can’t see.

Nobody needs to be home, and nobody from our crew goes inside your house.

How we work

The person turning up introduces himself and walks you through how your place is going to be washed before he starts.

Every property gets a method chosen for its surfaces, in this order: the safety of you and of us first, the safety of your property second, and getting it clean third. That order is why we treat a roof rather than blasting it, and why we sometimes tell you a wash isn’t worth doing.

Weather and rescheduling

Exterior cleaning is weather-dependent. Wind, heavy rain or an unsafe surface means we move your job, and we’ll ring you rather than leaving you wondering. Rescheduling for weather costs you nothing. If you need to move a booked job, let us know as early as you can and we’ll find another day.

Roof and moss treatments specifically

A roof treatment is sprayed on and then does its work over the following weeks — the growth dies and the weather carries it away. Your roof will not look finished the afternoon we leave, and it is not meant to. Expect it to keep improving for around two to three months. A treatment also sheds dead growth into the gutters, which is why we suggest having the spouting cleared at the same visit.

Our guarantee

We guarantee all our work. If something we did isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back and put it right. That is the guarantee: we return and fix it.

Two honest limits. It covers our workmanship — not fair wear, not new growth a season later, and not a surface that was already failing before we arrived. And it isn’t a money-back offer; we’d rather fix the job than argue about a refund.

Nothing here reduces your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If these terms and that legislation conflict, the legislation wins.

Payment

Payment terms are confirmed on your written quote before any work starts, so there’s nothing to work out afterwards. We don’t take card or bank details through this website.

Insurance and liability

We carry liability insurance. If we damage something through our own negligence, that’s on us — tell us straight away, while it can still be seen, and we’ll deal with it.

What we can’t take responsibility for is a pre-existing fault that washing revealed rather than caused: paint that had already lost its grip, render that was already cracked, timber that had already gone, or spouting that was already failing at the joints. We’ll flag what we can see at the assessment, and we’ll stop and ring you if we find something on the day.

Photographs of your property

We take before and after photographs of jobs, partly as a record and partly because they’re how we show people what the work looks like. If you’d rather yours weren’t used on this website or in our advertising, just say so — at the quote or afterwards — and they won’t be. We don’t publish addresses, and we don’t name customers.

Your information

How we handle your details, and what tracking this website uses, is set out in our privacy policy.

Which law applies
